Download Planetary Annihilation: TITANS 124666 Story

There is no scripted story in Planetary Annihilation: TITANS – no named commanders, no dialogue, no cutscenes to connect matches together. Rather, the game’s premise is set in the context of an open-ended sci-fi conflict, with opposing factions battling across entire solar systems for control of planets, and ultimately, survival of their forces against total planetary annihilation. The “story” of any particular match is fully emergent, constructed from the specific planets involved, the ever-expanding scale of each fight and the decision of when (or if) to end things by physically destroying an opponent’s world. There is no pre-written story here, and that’s by design – TITANS is a system-driven strategy sandbox, not a story-driven campaign, more a persistent simulation of interplanetary warfare than a traditional RTS with a beginning, middle and end. The drama is in the scale and stakes of the game mechanics themselves: seeing a unit classed as a Titan turn the tide of a losing battle or seeing a planet you’ve spent an hour developing get shattered by a Ragnarok Titan carries far more narrative weight than anything scripted could add.

TITANS is economy driven real-time strategy on a truly massive scale, from base building and resource management on a home planet, to expanding operations across an entire solar system. Players construct production facilities, research through levels of units and command armies that can run into the thousands on multiple simultaneous fronts. Much of the logistical overhead that would otherwise bury a player at this scale is handled by the game’s Advanced Command and Control tools. You fight on land, in the ocean, in air and in orbit. TITANS adds new planets with multi-level terrain, making battles more vertical than the original game with flatter battlefields . The largest addition to TITANS is the tier of five Titan-class super units. Units such as the Atlas bot and Zeus airship are a large economic investment in their construction, but can single handedly turn a losing engagement around once deployed. TITANS has win conditions that are truly unique and outside of standard combat. Rather than destroying an enemy army, the dominant player can end a match by wiping out the planet that army is standing on with giant lasers, asteroid strikes and the planet destroying Ragnarok Titan. Bounty Mode provides a framework for AI skirmishes, multiplayer and normal competitive matches. The Instant Replay system allows players to rewind and review live matches in real time, which is good for learning from mistakes, and also for really appreciating the magnitude of what just happened on-screen. Matches can be played online or on a DRM-Free Local Server, supporting up to 32 players over LAN, harking back to the game's origins as a client/server networked application built for very large scale conflicts.

How to Play Download Planetary Annihilation: TITANS 124666

First, get used to the streamlined tutorial before jumping into a full match. TITANS is played on a scale that can be intimidating without a bit of familiarity with how the interface handles multi-planet operations. A stable economy on your home planet is best established early, before expanding outwards. One of the most common ways to fall behind is to overextend onto additional planets too early, before your production base can support it. Scale of production and army management - rather use the Advanced Command and Control tools to automate repetitive tasks than to micromanage every unit by hand. At this scale it will quickly become unmanageable. Titan-class units? Well they’re expensive and powerful, so figure out when you can realistically afford one, and plan towards that. But to build towards one too early, at the expense of your broader economy, can leave you vulnerable in the meantime. Don't just watch your home planet, watch for enemy expansion throughout the solar system. A strong economy on a far away ignored planet can quietly out produce you. If a match is close, consider whether a traditional military victory or a planet destroying super weapon is the faster, surer way to win. Use Instant Replay after matches (or even during) to see exactly where a battle turned. It’s hard to keep up with everything that’s going on live sometimes, given the scope of the game. For beginners, go into Bounty Mode vs AI to get a feel of the systems before going into competitive.
