Cat Chaos doesn't follow a traditional narrative — its premise is simple and self-contained: you are a mischievous house cat let loose in increasingly cluttered environments, from a cozy apartment to a full supermarket, free to cause as much destruction as possible. The "story" beat comes at the end of each session, when the cat naps and the player gets to see how their human reacts to the chaos left behind, closing the loop without any larger plot to follow.

Cat Chaos centers on physics-based destruction and light progression. Players explore levels filled with hundreds of interactable objects, using basic movement and toppling actions alongside an upgradeable Whirlwind Spin ability to knock over or demolish items ranging from small mugs to entire shelving units. Star Shards collected throughout each level power up the spin ability over time, letting destruction scale from small individual object knock-overs to full furniture demolition. Exploration is rewarded through hidden toy friend companions, and the game deliberately avoids failure conditions, timers, or scoring pressure, framing the entire experience as a low-stakes, cause-and-effect sandbox.

Launch the game and choose your preferred cat breed from the nine available options. Explore the level's rooms, looking for objects to topple and Star Shards hidden among the clutter. Knock over individual items by batting them off surfaces, or activate the Whirlwind Spin to clear entire shelves at once. Collect Star Shards to upgrade your Whirlwind Spin, making it bigger, longer-lasting, and faster to recharge. Use your upgraded spin to demolish larger furniture pieces like glass panels, chairs, tables, and shelves. Explore hidden corners of each level to find toy friends, which will ride along with you once discovered. Continue causing chaos across the level at your own pace, since there are no timers or fail states to worry about. When you're ready, have your cat curl up for a nap and watch your human's reaction to the mess you've made.
