Purity is a PCM Sound Module / ROMpler virtual instrument developed by Sonic Cat Inc. (also known as Luxonix Inc.), built to bring the classic hardware workstation sound into a modern, lightweight plugin. Available as a VST2 and Audio Unit plugin, Purity requires macOS 10.9 or later on an Apple or Intel 64-bit processor (Universal Binary 2), with 100MB of free disk space. Version 1.4.6, released February 14, 2025, added a "set as initial preset" option to the Preset Browser's color menu, displayed oversampling poly counts in a smaller font, fixed an issue where some notes weren't played when pressed simultaneously in Mono mode, and corrected velocity response on Drum Pad edits. What makes Purity distinctive among ROMpler-style plugins is its combination of nostalgic PCM-based sound character with a genuinely fast, focused workflow built for modern producers working in hip-hop, trap, PluggnB, R&B, pop, EDM, and game music. How to Use SonicCat Purity 1.4.6

Enter your serial number when prompted, copying and pasting the entire string into the first cell at once. Rescan your DAW's plugin list if Purity doesn't appear automatically after installation. Browse the roughly 1,500 factory presets using the 9-color patch recognition system to quickly identify sound types. Use Combi mode to link up to 16 layers together for more complex, detailed sound design. Program the built-in sequencer using up to 64 steps across 5 lanes, applying swing or triplet timing as needed. Press F11 for full-screen view, or Ctrl+F11 to switch to menu bar view, while working within the plugin.
