Prism Plate is a spectral plate reverb plug-in for Mac & PC in VST3, AU and AAX formats. It doesn’t model one classic plate unit, but combines five different plate models – each tuned with its own spectral balance – with a tube-driven saturation stage, filtering and modulation controls, letting engineers go from classic reverb shaping to more aggressive, sound-design-oriented territory in the same processor. As for the five plate characters, Shadow, Lumen, Glass, Spectrum, Vapor, they span a wide range of tonal colors, from dark and heavy to open and crystalline, with a few experimental plates that transcend anything a traditional plate unit could ever do. Each plate has its own brightness, its own density, its own character of decay. Beyond plate selection, WIDTH expands or contracts the stereo image from a wide atmospheric field to a tighter, more focused presence. DRIVE adds tube warmth and can push the reverb tail into hazy saturated territory for added texture and density. Version 1.0.3 is based on direct user feedback post release, most notably in the form of increasing the predelay range from an initial maximum of 80ms to 500ms, responding to engineers working at longer predelay settings that emulate vintage tape-based workflows.
