How to Play Path of Idle: Old Gods Rising 1.1.3.1

Path of Idle: Old Gods Rising is a Lovecraftian idle RPG from Small Mill, released on Steam on August 12, 2026, after about three months in beta. You play a servant of a sleeping Old God, building a town on the sealed grounds of Blackreef Isle. Your job is to grow your cult, pick promising exiled criminals, and awaken their power with the Old God’s blood. That turns them into Godsworn, the heroes who fight for you. The final goal is to step into the Void, defeat the Outer Gods, and break every seal so the Old God can rise. The heart of the game is idle auto-battle. Your team of Godsworn fights in real time completely on its own, so you never steer characters or press attack buttons. Your role is to make the decisions that make the team stronger. You choose from six classes, each with its own skill system, and decide which skills to combine. Battles drop loot and chests, and gear comes in different rarities that each serve a purpose, so building the right set of equipment is where most of your progress comes from. You can also craft gear and use Runewords to push your builds further. Between fights, you develop your town. Its buildings provide useful services, and upgrading them makes your whole operation more efficient. Players report that later you unlock offline rewards, so your team keeps earning while the game is closed, which suits checking in once or twice a day. Progress is spread across five adventure modes that unlock in layers: Expedition, Exploration, Divine Tower, Alternate Dimension and Finality. Each is harder than the last. Later content rewards careful planning of subclass builds, so it’s worth revisiting your team’s skills and gear whenever you hit a wall, rather than just waiting for levels to rise. Seasonal challenges add new content with separate save files, and you can start any season whenever you like.

Path of Idle: Old Gods Rising 1.1.3.1 Controls

Because combat is fully automatic, Path of Idle: Old Gods Rising has no movement or attack keys to learn. Everything is done with the mouse: clicking through menus to manage your Godsworn, equip and compare gear, open chests, assign skills, upgrade town buildings, and choose which adventure mode or stage to enter. The Steam page doesn’t list controller support or official keyboard shortcuts. If the game uses any shortcuts, such as Esc for the menu, they can be found in its settings A good routine is to set up your team and gear, send them into a stage, then let them farm loot on their own. Come back to sort your inventory, upgrade buildings and adjust skills before pushing to the next challenge.
