TabTab 2.2.1

Zhi Qi ·Zhi Qi

TabTab is a Mac app that replaces the basic Command-Tab switcher with one that shows every window and even individual tabs, so you can jump straight to the right Chrome tab or VS Code file. It’s for people who juggle lots of windows and tabs and waste time hunting for them.

TabTab 2.2.1 Overview

TabTab is made by developer Zhi Qi as a native Swift app for macOS. The built-in Command-Tab only switches between apps, so you still have to dig through that app’s windows and tabs. TabTab skips that step. You press its shortcut and get a list of all your open windows. In supported apps like Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Brave, VS Code, Finder, Figma and Notion, you also see individual tabs. You can type to search by app name, window title or tab title. Version 2.0 made it faster and added search across all open browser tabs. The developer says TabTab runs fully on your Mac and doesn’t send data to outside servers.

Key Features

Window switching: You see every open window, not just every app, and jump to the exact one you need. Tab switching: In supported apps you can go straight to a specific tab, such as one Chrome tab or one VS Code file, without opening the app first. Search everything: You can type part of an app name, window title or tab title to filter instantly. It’s handy when you have dozens of tabs open. Native macOS design: It looks like part of macOS, supports Dark Mode, and works with full-screen and Split View windows. Custom shortcuts and settings: You can change the hotkeys and tweak how the switcher behaves.
