Tab Launcher is a customizable application launcher for Mac that allows users to quickly find and launch favorite programs, web pages, folders or any type of file, while using minimal system resources. Tab Launcher lets users organize shortcuts into tabs that can be placed on any edge of any connected display, rather than rely solely on the Dock or Spotlight. Users can sort applications and resources by project, client or task. The app’s version 3.0 was a major redesign – “the biggest update in the app’s history”, according to the developer – with tabs rebuilt as living, organic shapes that can be sculpted in a new Shape Studio or set to a preset style (Classic, Soft, Pill, Sculpted, Wave), as well as multi-color gradients, fluid open/close animations, and per-edge layout memory, even taking into account the camera housing on modern MacBooks. Version 3.1.0 builds on that redesign with layout refinements: up to six rows of icons via a new Rows slider, free-form item docking (i.e. placing icons anywhere on the grid, iOS-style, instead of only centered), scroll-wheel panning for tabs that exceed the screen, and assorted layout fixes. Tab Launcher is available on the Mac App Store as a one-time purchase and requires macOS 10.13 or later. It pairs with a separate, free Tab Launcher Pro companion app that adds capabilities that sandboxed apps can't do on their own, such as quitting every app in a tab at once.
