SaneClip 2.3.21 Overview

SaneClip is a clipboard manager software for Mac developed by SaneApps. It runs quietly in the menu bar and automatically records everything you copy text and images — so you can search, edit, pin, and re-paste items from your history at any time.  The current version, SaneClip 2.3.21, is part of the app's actively maintained 2.3.x release line. This specific update improves direct-license validation, ensuring the SaneApps Bundle correctly activates SaneClip Pro for valid direct Mac purchases. Unlike many clipboard tools that quietly sync your data to the cloud, SaneClip keeps everything local by default. Optional iCloud sync is available for users who want cross-device access, but it routes through your own Apple account rather than a third-party server, and can be fully encrypted.  SaneClip for Mac is available in two builds: A direct download version (with Sparkle auto-updates and one-click auto-paste) A Mac App Store version (same core features, manual paste due to sandbox rules)

Key Features

Touch ID / Biometrische Sicherung SaneClip allows you to lock your whole clipboard history behind Touch ID or Face ID, so that anything sensitive you copy won’t be visible until you authenticate with your biometrics. That’s a feature many clipboard managers on Mac lack. Device Encryption We encrypt your clipboard history on your device with AES-256-GCM, and we store the keys in your macOS Keychain. Default, nothing is sent to third party servers. Automatic Sensitive-Data Cleanup SaneClip regularly scans and deletes sensitive data such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, passwords, tokens, and private keys from your history, so sensitive data doesn't linger. Password Manager Exclusion Copies from popular password managers – 1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass, Dashlane, and the like – are automatically ignored, so the credentials don’t enter your clipboard log at all. Source-App Tagging Each clipboard entry will also have the name of the app it was copied from, and a uniform colour for each source will allow you to scan your history visually. iCloud Sync (Optional) Cross-device sync is available through CloudKit, routed through your own Apple account. With History Encryption enabled, synced payloads are encrypted before upload. Snippets, Paste Stack & Rules (Pro) The paid Pro tier adds reusable snippets with placeholders, a paste stack for batch filling forms, text transformation rules, clipboard rules that strip URL tracking parameters, and OCR sidecars for screenshots. iOS App Companion Synced clipboard history to mobile with search, pinning and home-screen widgets with a free companion iPhone and iPad app. Pin & Duplicate Detection Same clips are automatically grouped together, and you can pin important stuff so you can always get to it even after your history limit.

How to Use SaneClip 2.3.21

Step 1: download SaneClip Mac app Download SaneClip installer for macOS from the macospace If you want auto-paste and self-updating, use the direct-download build. If Finder asks if you want to Replace an existing version, click Replace. Then copy from /Applications. Step 3: Grant the required permissions When you first launch SaneClip it will walk you through a short onboarding flow to ask you for access to your clipboard, and optionally Accessibility permissions (required for auto-paste on the direct-download build). Step 4: Enable Touch ID Security (Optional) Go to Settings and enable Touch ID / biometric lock if you want your clipboard history protected behind biometric authentication. Optional: Step 5. Enable Encryption for History In Settings, turn on History Encryption to ensure your local clipboard data is encrypted at rest using your Mac's Keychain-stored keys. Step 6: Exclude Sensitive Apps Add password managers or banking apps to the Excluded Apps list so anything copied from them is never captured in your clipboard history. Step 7: Use Your Clipboard History You can open your clipboard history at any time by using the default keyboard shortcut Cmd+Shift+Control+Y. Search, filter or click a clip to paste it. Step 8: Dealing with and Using Snippets Pin the clips you use most, so they are always easy to find. If on Pro, create snippets with placeholders and build a paste stack for repetitive multi-item pasting jobs. Step 9: Optional: Turn on iCloud Sync If you would like your clipboard history on iPhone or iPad too, turn on iCloud Sync in Settings and download the free companion app from the App Store.
