Macs Fan Control shows your Mac’s temperatures and fan speeds in real time and lets you take over the fans when macOS doesn’t. It’s for anyone with a Mac that runs too hot under load, or one that’s too loud, for example after an iMac hard-drive swap.

Macs Fan Control Pro 1.5.22 Overview

Macs Fan Control is made by CrystalIDEA, the developer of Uninstall Tool and AnyToISO. It has been around for many years and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. The main window has two simple lists: your fans and your temperature sensors. Each fan can stay on Auto, letting macOS decide as usual, or switch to Custom. In Custom mode, you can set a fixed speed such as 2,000 RPM, or tie the fan to a sensor, so it speeds up as a chosen part like the CPU or a third-party drive gets hotter. The app itself is free. A one-time Pro license adds custom fan presets and priority support. When you quit the app, all fans go back to Auto.

Key Features

Real-time monitoring. Live fan speeds and temperature readings, including third-party HDDs and SSDs through S.M.A.R.T. Custom fan speed. Set a fixed RPM, or link a fan’s speed to any temperature sensor. Fan presets (Pro). Save your own presets, such as “Quiet” or “Rendering”, and switch between them quickly. Menu bar display. Show a chosen fan speed or temperature right in the menu bar. Fix noise after drive swaps. Calm the loud fans that often follow a third-party hard-drive replacement in an iMac. Boot Camp support. A Windows version can control fans on Intel Macs running Windows through Boot Camp, including T2 models.
