Download Marked 3.1.15 For Mac Overview

Marked is a Markdown previewer for macOS. It is definitely not an editor. It is based on a simple separation of concerns: write in whatever tool feels right (Obsidian, VS Code, Scrivener, Ulysses, or plain text), and let Marked handle the rendering, the statistics, and the publishing. Open a file or folder in Marked, save changes in your editor of choice and the preview updates automatically. See headings, tables, math, diagrams, and custom CSS as they will appear in the final export. Marked 3, due out in 2026, is the biggest update in the app’s decade-plus history, its own developer says. It brings in two-way DOCX support, meaning writing can go in and out of Word, not just be exported to it, plus Custom Processors and Custom Rules which give writers granular control over exactly how their Markdown renders. And a Style Stealer tool replicates the look and feel of a writer’s published website so the preview looks identical to what readers will see. The app supports some Markdown engines including MultiMarkdown, Discount (GFM), CommonMark with GFM extensions and Kramdown. This gives some flexibility depending on what flavor of Markdown a given project uses. Version 3.1.15 improves reliability of paginated PDF output, localization and AppleScript export. Marked runs on OS X 11 and up, and is available for download directly, from the Mac App Store and Setapp with subscription and single payment Marked 3 Pro license and free trial. Brett Terpstra has also released a companion Marked QL, a free Quick Look extension that renders proper Markdown previews right in Finder with the spacebar.

Style Editor, Style Director You can design the visual look of the previews using a Style Manager and Style Editor, and a few set built-in themes. QL Quick Look Extension marked A free companion app, Marked QL, renders proper formatted Markdown previews directly in Finder when pressing the spacebar, replacing macOS's default plain-text Quick Look behavior for Markdown files.
