eBookBinder is a small Mac app that turns your existing documents into an ePub eBook in three steps: add book details, add your files as chapters, and click “Bind book.” It’s for writers, students and anyone who wants to package notes, articles or Markdown files into a proper eBook without learning complex publishing software.

eBookBinder 1.13.2 Overview

eBookBinder is made by Xelaton Software (Alexander Sasse) and is sold on the Mac App Store. It has been updated regularly for over a decade, and version 1.13.2 brings fixes and improvements for newer versions of macOS. You enter the book title, author and cover image, then drag in your files. Each file becomes one chapter, which you can rename and reorder by dragging. eBookBinder accepts plain text, Word (DOC/DOCX), ODT, RTF, RTFD, HTML, TextBundle and TextPack files, and it automatically converts text written in Markdown, MultiMarkdown, Textile, Wikitext, BBCode or Smark. When you click Bind book, it creates an ePub file you can read in Apple Books and most eBook readers.

How to Use eBookBinder 1.13.2

Open eBookBinder Open eBookBinder from Launchpad or the Applications folder. Create a new book project and enter at least a title. Drag your documents into the chapter list, then click Bind book to create your ePub.
