Topaz Gigapixel is an AI photo upscaling app for macOS, Windows and as a Photoshop plug-in, based on a neural network trained on thousands of photo pairs to understand how detail is normally lost when an image is shrunk down – the model then learns to "fill in" plausible information in new images based on that training, essentially adding new detail instead of just stretching existing pixels.
