The Blackwell Legacy 5.0

Rosangela "Rosa" Blackwell, a quiet book review columnist for the Village Eye newspaper, believes her troubles are over after her only remaining relative, her aunt Lauren, dies following twenty years in a coma. That changes when Joey Mallone, a wisecracking ghost from the 1930s, enters her life and reveals that Rosa is a medium, the latest in a line of Blackwells bound to help restless spirits find peace. When the Village Eye assigns Rosa to write about a recent NYU student's suicide, she and Joey discover it's connected to a string of unexplained deaths caused by an unnatural force, casting Rosa as an unwilling detective in a supernatural mystery she never expected to face.

The Blackwell Legacy is played as a traditional point-and-click adventure, where players explore environments, examine objects, and collect and combine inventory items to solve puzzles and advance the story. The game frequently shifts control between Rosa and Joey Mallone, using Joey's ghostly nature to interact with other spirits and access parts of the investigation Rosa alone couldn't reach. Dialogue with characters throughout New York City gradually reveals the mystery behind the student suicides, with the story unfolding through a combination of exploration, conversation, and puzzle-solving typical of the genre's classic adventure game roots.
