Cloudy Samples Magneta Mac 1.0.0 is a Lo-Fi Cassette Tape Emulator Plugin that features 8 Fully Editable Degradation Modules, Dual Tape Type Selection (STD / CrO2) and a 3 Mode Stereo Split Section to add real analogue warmth and texture to your digital audio.

Cloudy Samples Magneta 1.0.0 Overview

Magneta is a lo-fi tape and cassette emulation plugin for macOS and Windows. Available as a 64-bit VST3 and Audio Unit (AU) plugin. It takes the concept of one saturation curve and adds filtering, analogue overdrive, pitch instability, simulation of physical tape damage and noise artefacts into one modular effect, letting producers dial in anything from subtle analogue warmth to a heavily degraded lo-fi texture. Magneta is built on 8 fully editable lo-fi modules. Hi-Cut and Lo-Cut filters for tonal shaping, Drive for analogue overdrive, Melt for pitch fluctuation, Dmg to simulate physical tape damage, and Age, Dust and Hiss for period accurate noise artefacts. Instead of being stuck with a single combined effect, each module can be selectively engaged and blended with surgical precision. Tape Type Selection lets users choose between the classic iron tape sound (STD) or a brighter, cleaner chrome cassette character (CrO2), while the Split Section offers three distinct stereo modes (Split A, B, C) for adding stereo movement and width beyond a standard mono-summed tape effect. Rounding off the plugin are Master Controls with a built-in Limiter to prevent digital clipping, a Blend knob for parallel dry/wet processing and fine control over Volume, Width and L/R Balance. There’s a one-click Random button that gives you a unique, randomised set of effect-section settings (safely bypassing master parameters) for instant creative inspiration, and a Reset option to get you back to square one at any time. Magneta is 26.22 MB and is released in 2026. It has a built-in high-end, CPU-efficient interface.

Key Features

8 Lo-Fi Modules Editable Create your own degradation character with dedicated modules – Hi-Cut / Lo-Cut filters, Drive (analogue overdrive), Melt (pitch fluctuation), Dmg (physical tape damage) and Age, Dust and Hiss (noise artefacts) – that you can interact with and mix each one independently. Select Tape Type Pick the standard iron tape sound (STD) for a more traditional cassette feel or a chrome tape (CrO2) for more high-end sparkle and cleaner saturation. Stereo Split Section Three unique stereo modes (Split A, B, C) allow you to create width and stereo movement in a sound beyond the standard mono-summed tape emulation. Full Master Control Section An integrated Limiter prevents digital clipping, while a Blend knob enables parallel dry/wet processing. Individual knobs set the overall Volume, Width and L/R Balance. Random Generation in a Click Random Click Random to instantly randomise the effect section parameters, ignoring the master parameters for faster creative starting points. Reboot Now You can always Reset the plugin to its default initial settings with a single action so you can experiment to your heart’s content without losing sight of a clean baseline. CPU Efficient Interface (High-End) Magneta has a slick, top-end interface which is designed to be CPU efficient so it can be run as multiple instances across a session without putting too much strain on resources. Cross platform Multi format support Magneta is available as a 64-bit VST3 and Audio Unit (AU) plugin and works across macOS and Windows systems within any compatible DAW. Endless Effect Modulation Magneta provides a huge creative palette with modular, independently adjustable degradation controls – from adding a touch of analogue warmth to a clean mix, to fully degraded, intentionally broken lo-fi textures.
