Amadeus Pro 2.8.14 (2680) Beta Overview

Amadeus Pro is a powerful multitrack audio editor and recorder for OS X with a large set of features. It is easy to use, and allows you to record live audio, digitise tapes and records, and convert between many different sound formats. The killer technical feature is direct-to-disk editing with waveform caching, so edits on arbitrarily sized sound files (even well beyond the typical 2GB limit that many editors have to deal with) can run at genuinely fast speeds. Excellent marker support for large, complex audio projects, without losing track of key points over a long recording. The app’s sound repair and denoising features are particularly good for the job of moving vinyl to digital, removing crackle, hiss and other analogue artefacts as you go. Amadeus Pro Supports a large number of sound formats including AIFF, Multichannel Wave, MP3, MP4, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, SoundDesigner II, QuickTime and Apple CAF. It also has the ability to utilise both VST and Audio Unit plugins for additional processing power. The current stable release line – version 2.8.14 – is fully compatible with macOS Tahoe, and this Beta build is a work in progress on the way to the next stable point release. HairerSoft has a separate 3.0 beta compiled natively for Apple Silicon, which runs under Rosetta 2 for now but is said to perform indistinguishably from native, and still allow access to Audio Units that haven’t yet been ported. Amadeus Pro requires macOS 10.10 or later and is 64-bit only.
